We have compiled a list of Useful Links to organisations that we work with or collaborate with.

These organisations are representative groups in the areas of Sleep Disorders and Respiratory Health.


The Irish Sleep Society (ISS) was founded on the 24th September 2005 following a meeting of healthcare professionals who specialise in disorders of sleep.

The ISS is a Professional Society. It was established with the aim of informing other healthcare professionals, administrators and the public of the nature of problems that occur during sleep and how these may affect health and society.


The Irish Thoracic Society (ITS) is the official society of Respiratory Physicians and Thoracic Surgeons in Ireland with members from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.  ITS membership is open to all healthcare professionals (Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Respiratory Technicians, etc.) with an interest in Pulmonary Diseases and their management


SLEEPY_HEADS.org is a voluntary non-profit organisation established in June 2009.  It is dedicated to individuals with Narcolepsy.  Their mission is to provide services to educate, advocate, support and improve awareness of this neurological sleep disorder.


The European Lung Foundation (ELF) was founded by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) in 2000 with the aim of bringing together patients, the public and respiratory professionals to positively influence lung health.


The American Sleep Apnea Association was founded in 1990 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization by persons with apnea and concerned health care providers and researchers.


The Irish Lung Health Alliance is a group of Irish charities that have joined forces to promote healthy lungs with four simple messages:-

1. Lung disease can affect anyone regardless of age, health status and walk of life

2. Symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough and wheeze are not normal and should be checked with your GP

3. Lung disease is treatable – the earlier you treat the better.

4. Keep lungs healthy – don’t smoke and stay active


Cystinosis Foundation Ireland is an Irish registered charity, registered number CHY15517.  It is an all volunteer, non-profit organisation dedicated to providing services for those in affected by Cystinosis.
